Your financial records stay on your device. Here is how the app, optional feedback and this help website handle information.

Pennykin is a local-first budgeting and virtual-pet app for first-time budgeters aged 14 and older. This policy explains the current app, optional support and beta feedback, and the Pennykin help website. Contact the developer at pennykinappsupport@gmail.com.

1. Information stored on your device

The app stores your pet name and type, appearance preferences, weekly budget and category plans, expense amounts, categories, notes and Need/Want labels, reserved expenses, savings-goal progress, daily check-ins, and pet, reward and room progress in an on-device SQLite database. These records support the app's budgeting, charts and pet features.

The current app has no account registration, bank connection, advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK or developer-operated cloud sync. Ordinary budgeting operations do not upload your transaction database to the developer. Reading the device's local date and timezone supports daily budgets and check-ins; the app does not request GPS location for this purpose.

2. Optional email and beta feedback

If you email support, the developer receives your email address, the message and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to respond, troubleshoot and improve Pennykin.

If you choose Share beta summary, the app prepares the beta day, number of check-in days, current streak, experience rating, answer to the one-time-price question and your optional written feedback. It does not automatically attach your expense amounts, transaction descriptions or pet name. Your own written feedback or attachments may include personal information, so avoid including private financial details.

The system share sheet lets you choose the destination or cancel. Nothing is automatically sent to the developer when you open it. The developer receives a summary only if you send it to the support address or otherwise share it with the developer. The service you choose to send it through may also process it.

3. Apple testing and diagnostics

If you install Pennykin through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects beta usage and crash information and shares testing information with the developer. This can include app/build, device and operating-system details, sessions, crashes and diagnostic logs. Email-invited testers' names and email addresses may also be visible; public-link testers' names and email addresses are not normally shown unless supplied with feedback. Feedback and screenshots you send through TestFlight are also shared with the developer.

These platform diagnostics are separate from Pennykin's optional in-app beta summary and do not require an analytics SDK inside Pennykin. The developer uses them to investigate defects and improve the app, does not share TestFlight information with third parties, and retains downloaded diagnostic material only while needed for that purpose or applicable obligations. Apple controls retention within its own service. See Apple's TestFlight & Privacy information at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/test-flight/ .

For an App Store installation, Apple may separately provide diagnostics or aggregate app information under its platform settings and terms. See https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/app-analytics/ .

4. Service providers and website visits

Support email uses Gmail, so correspondence is also processed by Google's email service. Your email provider and any service you choose in the share sheet have their own privacy practices.

The help website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites, provided by OpenAI and its infrastructure providers. Hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP address, browser information and request logs to deliver and protect the pages. Pennykin does not add advertising pixels, a contact form or a website analytics service. The hosting service may use its own access and security mechanisms. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy at https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/ and Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy for their practices.

The developer does not sell your information, use it for advertising or tracking, or share support messages with advertisers. Information may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address security or legal obligations.

5. Retention, deletion and your choices

Local app records remain in the app's storage until you remove them. To reset the app, go to Insights → Settings → Delete all local data and confirm. This removes your entered records and progress from the app and returns it to initial setup. There is no server account to delete. The developer cannot view, recover, export or remotely delete records that exist only on your device.

Pennykin does not provide its own cloud sync or manual backup in this version. Device or operating-system backups, including any backup you enable, are separate. Deleting data inside the app does not delete previously created backups or messages you already sent. Manage those copies through the relevant device or service settings.

Support messages and voluntarily submitted feedback are kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, follow up and investigate the reported issue, or meet applicable legal or security obligations. They are deleted or de-identified when no longer needed. To request access, correction or deletion of information you sent to the developer, email pennykinappsupport@gmail.com. The developer may ask for information necessary to verify that the request concerns your own correspondence.

You can use the app without sending email or beta feedback. Cancelling or declining to share does not limit its budgeting or pet features.

6. Young users

Pennykin is intended for users aged 14 and older. The app does not ask for a date of birth. The developer does not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 14 through support or feedback. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information to the developer, contact pennykinappsupport@gmail.com so the correspondence can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.

7. Money and purchases

Pennykin does not connect to financial institutions, move real money or provide financial advice. Pet Coins and care resources are fictional and have no cash value. The current version has no active in-app purchase or subscription. A future feature that changes data handling will be reflected in an updated policy before it is introduced.

8. Changes and contact

The date above identifies the latest policy update. Material changes to how the app handles information will be reflected here and, when appropriate, communicated in the app.

For privacy questions, support or requests concerning correspondence you sent, contact pennykinappsupport@gmail.com. Do not send passwords, verification codes, bank details or unredacted screenshots of financial records.
